Gianna Martinengo

Gianna Martinengo is an entrepreneur and a researcher . She considers innovation at the origin of the progress of the entire social system. This explains why her priorities have been devoted to social objectives - such as human learning and progress - not just business. Her approach privileges applied research, professional growth, partnerships with other centers of expertise in an international context.
After studying in Milan at the Bocconi University , she had her first international experience by specializing at Stanford University and consulting for C.C.C in Palo Alto, California. Later, she has been advisor for the Commission of the European Communities in several occasions within programs related to the intersection of technologies and human learning.
She has consulted , designed and managed 700 e-learning and web applications, 80 projects of social innovation (aimed at including in being digital , women, senior, prisoners, immigrants ) and 76 research projects at European level.
She has delivered 300 courses and seminars, published 150 articles in Italian and international journals, 200 speeches at conferences. She was contract professor at the university of Turin .
Member of Program and Technical-Scientific Committees of several national and international conferences.
Member of several Board of Directors in many important Italian companies and institutions. Elected member of the Probiviri Committee of Assolombarda – Confindustria where she had important roles in the area of Innovation , Research and Education .
In addition to being a direct testimony, her commitment to the enhancement of the synergies between women and technologies was shown by several prestigious institutional mandates: president of Women Entrepreneurs of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan and of Lombardy (200.000 sme), In 2007 she started the international project "Women&Technologies ® 2008 -2015".
She has been acknowledged with important awards and honors: Cavaliere "Al Merito della Repubblica Italiana" (2011), Ambrogino d’Oro (2007 – Municipality of Milan); European Award “Donna Terziario” (2006), Piazza Mercanti Award (2003 - Chamber Of Commerce); Rosa Camuna (2000 - Lombardy Region), Mela d'Oro (1995- Marisa Bellisario Foundation).
