Il Prof. Stefano A. Cerri parlerà alla 3RD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NOVEL & INTELLIGENT DIGITAL SYSTEMS

In occasione del Convegno NIDS 2023 il Prof. Stefano A. Cerri è stato invitato a tenere la relazione introduttiva, giovedì 28 settembre alle 8:30 ora italiana. Il titolo scelto è:

Towards foundational principles in Interactive AI: From stamp collecting to Physics

Dalla presentazione sul sito del convegno consiste in tre parti:

  1. Una premessa generale sulla natura scientifica e tecnica dell'Informatica in generale e dell'Intelligenza Artificiale in particolare, con esempi che dimostrano la convergenza progressiva verso discipline strutturate attorno a pochi principi generali a partire dai quali ricavare molte applicazioni, apparentemente assai diverse, come accade in Fisica. Per questo il paradosso della transizione da "collezione di francobolli" a Fisica.
  2. Una parte centrale in cui si argomenta la scelta del relatore di tre grossi progetti di ricerca precompetitiva -con progetti europei e risultati concreti- da lui svolti nel corso degli anni da cui si capisce che i tre filoni scelti per annunciare il convegno (Adaptive and Personalized Systems, Service Science and Software Engineering, Semantic and Social Web, ) sono in realtà fortemente interdipendenti. Da ognuno di questi progetti si ricavano poche essenziali lezioni utili per il futuro.
  3. Una conclusione con qualche speculazione personale sulle priorità da adottare, nell'era delle sorprese tipo ChatGPT e simili servizi di Intelligenza Aumentata (o Intelligenza Artificiale Interattiva); strumenti affascinanti ed altrettanto preoccupanti. Al termine, fuori programma ma su richiesta, un breve suggerimento offerto dalla Presidente DKTS mesi fa al Parlamento dell'UE. che sta legiferando sull'AI in Europa. Questa proposta può far riflettere su come ridurre i timori ed aumentare la fiducia nel grande pubblico, come avviene nel caso della legislazione sui farmaci.
